Rz. Polygonati Odorati Yu Zhu 6-30g Nourishes Yin, moistens Dryness, moistens the Lungs, nourishes the Stomach and generates fluids.
With Bai Wei, Bo He and Dan Dou Chi, for Externally contracted Wind-Heat with Yin Deficient constitutions.
With Sheng Di Huang, resolves cysts.
Rx. Cynanchi Bai Wei 3-12g Cools the Blood, clears Deficiency Heat, relieves toxicity and treats sores.
With Bo He and Yu Zhu, for External Wind-Heat with underlying Yin Deficiency.
Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng 3-10g Opens the Lungs, spreads Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, benefits the throat and raises Lung Qi, directing the effects of other herbs to the upper body.
With Yu Zhu, Bo He, Bai Wei and Dan Dou Chi, for Yin Deficiency with Exterior Wind-Heat.
With Gan Cao, disseminates Lung Qi, expels Phlegm, resolves toxicity and expels pus for productive coughing with hoarseness, pain and swelling of the throat due to Wind-Heat.
Hb. Menthae Haplocalycis Bo He 3-6g Disperses Wind-Heat, cools and clears the head and eyes, benefits the throat and vents rashes.
Sm. Sojae Preparata Dan Dou Chi 6-18g Releases the Exterior, eliminates irritability, harmonizes the Middle Jiao and relieves stuffy sensations in the chest.
Rx. Rehmanniae Sheng Di Huang 5-30g Clears Heat, cools the Blood, nourishes Yin and generates fluids.
With Mai Men Dong for a dry throat, swelling of the throat and lymph nodes, irritability, a red tongue and a fast thready pulse due to Devastated Yin with Blazing Fire.

 
Rx. Ophiopogonis Mai Men Dong 6-15g Moistens the Lungs, nourishes Yin, stops coughing, nourishes Stomach Yin, generates Fluids, moistens the Intestines, clears the Heart and eliminates irritability.
With Xuan Shen, Jie Geng and Gan Cao, for an itchy, dry throat, thirst and a non-productive cough due to Lung Yin Deficiency.
With Sheng Di Huang, for hematemesis or epistaxis due to Yin Deficiency with Excess Heat.
